The company BILODEAU, well known throughout the country, particularly for its expertise in fur trade, is happy to celebrate this year the fifth anniversary of its shop in Quebec.
Located at 20, rue du Cul-de-Sac, in the beautiful Quartier Petit Champlain, it presents collections adapted to all seasons, from fur accessories to outdoor clothing.
BILODEAU was born in a small village in Lac St-Jean, while Mario Bilodeau was concentrating
especially on taxidermy. He quickly made a name for himself by naturalizing the catches of
hunters and developing its tanning process. Being very creative and an excellent couturier, Mario Bilodeau then created his first ready-to-wear products, such as real sheep slippers and
fur hats. It is also in this workshop that he designs his very first version of Blizzard boots (snowmobile boots), today very popular. More than 33 years later, BILODEAU Canada became the second largest taxidermy workshop in the country and the first in Quebec.
Before setting up shop in Quartier Petit Champlain, BILODEAU feels the pulse of
Old Town by participating in the Christmas Market at the Old Port of Quebec Market. The result
was positive, and the company opened its Quebec City store on June 1, 2013. In 2014, the cousin of
Mr. Bilodeau joins the team. Since he knows the company well and lives in the city of Quebec for many years now, Marco Tremblay has become the ideal partner.
A partnership that continues today, BILODEAU Boutique de Québec will celebrate his five years in June. For the occasion, the boutique will offer many discounts from May 31 to June 3!
BILODEAU Canada presents collections 100% made in Quebec. The company founds its operations on values of local and sustainable development, as well as on the respect for wildlife resources. It integrates almost all of its processing operations of raw material and the manufacture of fur and outdoor accessories in its location in Normandin, northeast of Lac St-Jean. BILODEAU Canada works with various interpretation centers and zoos, in addition to collaborate with several museums. The company, which employs more than 85 employees, exports its unique pieces all over the world.

We are proud to celebrate the third anniversary of the boutique Charlevoix Pure Laine.
It has been three years since the Charlevoix Pure Laine store opened its second branch in Quebec, in the magnificent Quartier Petit Champlain. The owners, Hélène Martin, Valérie Dubois and Yvan Delage, feel pampered to be able to count on outstanding collaborators among Quebec lamb farmers. They participate in the development of this creative company that guarantees high quality local products.
Like the products offered in the Charlevoix Pure Laine store, her team is tightly knit, which brings an extremely loyal clientele enchanted with the idea of using and buying objetcs made with recycled and transformated local wool. Bottoms, tuques, bonnets, skeins and even woolen duvets from the country: everything is there to ensure comfort and warmth, even during the most difficult winters in Quebec. Felt products, such as soles, throws, murals, slippers, soaps and other accessories, are also famous for the place.
About Charlevoix Pure Laine
The workshop was created in 2010, thanks to the textile and crafts experience of the founders and owners Hélène Martin and Yvan Delage, as well as the collaboration of Charlevoix breeders. At this time, wool was no longer reused in Charlevoix. The mission of Charlevoix Pure Laine was then to change this sad reality by creating, designing and manufacturing wool products. Today, the company is now recycling fleeces in several regions of Quebec.

Come soon! On november 1s, we will begin the winter installation. All the Halloween decoration will be removed.
After a much-anticipated first appearance at Quartier Petit Champlain and Place-Royale last year, the historical figure Samuel de Champlain is back until fall! Throughout the summer, he will travel through the streets of one of the most beautiful parts of the world. He will tell stories, entertain and inform people.
Disguised from head to foot and embodied by Jacques Langlois, Samuel de Champlain offers a fun experience to all visitors; He will be the concierge of the area! The character can inform visitors, suggest shops, restaurants, attractions, and more. Obviously, Samuel de Champlain knows the Quartier Petit Champlain and Place-Royale inside out!
Charmant and colorful, the personage is a unavoidable in itself. Mr. Langlois put on his hat, wig and period costume every day in the afternoon, for the pleasure of all. The people of Québec are cordially invited to meet Samuel de Champlain to ask him questions or simply to capture the moment of a photo, as thousands of vacationers who did last summer!
Magical summer decor!
In addition to Samuel de Champlain in the area, on rue du Cul-de-Sac, at Parc Félix Leclerc and at Parc Petit-Champlain, the atmosphere is magical, thanks to enormous colored balls illuminated in the evening. A luminous ceiling overlooks rue du Petit-Champlain and, at the end of the street, there are two pretty swings in a giant frame surrounded by beautiful flowers, perfect pretext for a romantic photo!
At Place-Royale district, one of the 9 fun installations of the public art course Passages Insolites is set up near to the Batterie Royale, at the corner of Dalhousie and Champlain Market streets, in addition to a luminous ceiling on the alleyway Square.

The history of the iconic Quartier Petit Champlain has an important place in the City of Québec’s general ledger. To honour the revitalization of the neighbourhood, the Coopérative du Quartier Petit Champlain is pleased to present the documentary “Le grand rêve du Petit Champlain”, directed by Isabelle de Blois and produced by Pauline Voisard of Triangle Productions Inc., Illustrating the starting point of what we know today as the popular Quartier Petit Champlain and its evolution through the years, including the pitfalls faced.
