On February 14, visitors to Quartier Petit Champlain will be able to discover the new boutique La Nougaterie Québec, a unique confectionery that offers great variety of homemade products. Located on the magnificent Île d'Orléans, the factory will now have a new point of sale on rue du Petit-Champlain.

PRODUCTS
In addition to handcrafting delicious nougats, La Nougaterie also offers sweets and side dishes as meringue, marshmallow, honeymoons, spreads, jams, island corks, butters (apples, blueberries, etc.) and nougats in all their forms. All products are made in Saint-Pierre-de-l'Île-d´Orléans.

CRAFTSMEN
Both Europeans, the owners Patrick Augier and Caroline Marelli form a united team and show great bond, both in life and at work. Inhabited by the confectionery culture, they have been in business for over 35 years in the kitchen and in pastry.

Residents of Quebec since 2006, they opened their first store there, Ô Petites Douceurs du Quartier, two years later. There were local products, Quebec creations and, as the name says in French, "little sweets". They then decided to develop their own recipes: the store then became La Nougaterie Québec and moved on L'Île d'Orléan to develop production there. Since then, the owners have been concocting their sweets with love and passion, thanks to years of research in France. They combine their experience and knowledge with Cécile's, the master of confectionery and chocolate.

THE HISTORY OF NOUGAT
Soft and creamy confectionery that dates back to Antiquity, nougat is made from egg white, honey and almond. At the time, it was made in the East with almonds, honey and spices. Its production was also known to the Greeks, who made it with nuts. Various tender and hard varieties have appeared over the years. Real nougat, as we know it today, appeared in the middle of the 18th century. Egg whites, melted with honey and sugar, have been added, which allows the dough to be well aerated. It is therefore possible to taste this famous product at La Nougaterie.

Recently arrived for more than a week in the Quartier Petit Champlain, the first LOWELL store in the region is happy to settle in the rustic decor that housed until recently the company M0851. The new boutique offers a space that defines and reflects the imagination of the creators of the brand: a place of real authenticity. Thus, in addition to the vast collection of LOWELL leather bags, customers can find various importants local brands for men and women.

Born in Montreal, the LOWELL brand is strongly inspired by the urban lifestyle of this bilingual and multi-ethnic city. Unisex and made in leather, all LOWELL bags are dreamed thought, designed and crafted in their workshops in Montreal. This commitment to local production is the basis of the creators project. They want to offer creations that reflect the vitality of Montreal design while honoring the manufacturing past of this city. To make its products, LOWELL uses mostly Canadian and American cow leather. Almost all the skins used are full grain leathers whose final tanning and coloring are made with vegetable tannins. That gives the unique and natural character to these trendy accessories. The creators of the brand have the mission to reduce their ecological footprint to the maximum while having as much positive social impact on the community.

Like the one in Montreal, the Quebec City boutique in Quartier Petit Champlain also offers various Quebec brands, including Atelier B, Naked and Famous denim, Odeyalo clothing, Sense Aura and Esser Studio, as well as the essential Corsé magazine.

LOWELL reinforces a well-established positioning for the Quartier Petit Champlain as a must for true fashion lovers.
