PROJET 0°
In parallel to the traditional ice sculptures of the Quebec Carnival, EXMURO presents a creative update to the winter festivities with a collective exhibition of photographic and sculptural installations made of backlit ice blocks. Four artists have been selected for their series exploring our relationship with winter and the precariousness of climate balance: André Barrette, Duane Isaac, Jessica Houston, and Charles-Frédérick Ouellet.
In a setup that plays with the contrast between hot and cold, their explorations of climate issues will interact with the icy material and its gradual melting over time. Ice blocks will be assembled into sculptural installations to showcase the photographic images in various configurations. In a sensitive and playful manner, the works of Project 0° confront the audience with the issues at hand, creating an emotional connection to the cause. By provoking strong reactions and impactful encounters, they contribute to the collective mobilization of communities.
